You will enter a large empty room, completely painted (all walls, floor and ceiling) using a black thermochromic pigment. A thermochromic material is a material whose pigment and hue change due to a thermal variation (heat or cooling) In this occurrence, the ink chosen is black under 31°C, becoming transparent when above. Visitors can then play with this phenomenon to observe color changes and forms to be drawn on the web. The aim is to propose an attractive way to enter the world of our exhibition: Emanation.

In the 4 corners of the room, cameras, film and retranscribe live what they are filming, so that you will be able to observe your thermal doppelganger in front of you on the wall, thanks to a video projector. You will also observe changes in body temperature thanks to color changes in their silhouette. This experiment is the first approach, which will grow more and more in crescendo. Then, in the middle of the room will be arranged two hot air blowers and two cold air blowers, both with a button that you will be able to play with as you please. The camera will catch the phenomena and project it on the wall, showing the thermal reactions they cause on the body. We want to integrate your interactions at each stage of the journey to offer you an unforgettable experience.

In this third room, you will be able to continue your experience in a ludic and interactive manner. You will find five large ice cubes arranged in random patterns on transparent stands (They are meant to catch the water from them melting). Thanks to this, you’ll be able to see the transition from solid to liquid, somewhat of a gateway to our fourth room. Just as with the first two, the third is also painted black to really plunge you in a parallel universe. Once you enter the room, you’ll be given a container of warm water, which you will be prompted to pour onto the cube to cause reactions that you will at first not be able to see, but then be able to witness using provided portable thermal cameras. As a bonus, your passage will sculpt the cubes ever so slightly, causing a collaborative sculpture to take form at the end thanks to your actions.

In the fourth and last room of the exhibition, you’ll have a chance to interact with a system that pours water in a container with the purpose of changing its temperature while causing fluid movement, visible with a fixed thermal camera. As soon as it reaches a limit, it’ll empty back into the original tubes the water came from. The room will still be painted black, with the buttons being backlit in their corresponding color, with a screen to show you the camera’s view so you can compare it to yours.
